Imran Khan clarifies amid flak in Pak over Rushdie attack condemnation
Published on Aug 20, 2022 09:24 pm IST
- A day after he called the anger against Salman Rushdie ‘understandable’, Imran Khan said that his words in a UK Publication were taken out of context. The PTI Chief has condemned the attack on the novelist and said that while understands the anger against Rushdie, his brutal stabbing in New York cannot be justified. Referring to his decision 10 years ago to pull out of a seminar in India because Rushdie too was invited, Imran Khan said that he has always been clear on his views - that will never be part of a forum associated with the novelist. The former Pakistani Prime Minister faced backlash in his country where most politicians have refused to comment on Rushdie's attack.
