'In Soboto State...': Trump govt humiliates itself with big blunders soon after Nigeria ISIS strike
Published on Dec 26, 2025 12:52 pm IST
The United States carried out airstrikes against ISIS targets in Nigeria on December 25, according to U.S. Africa Command. Shortly after the operation, a post by Hegseth’s team sparked controversy after it misspelled Sokoto State as “Soboto State” in a now deleted message on X. The deleted post also highlighted efforts to eliminate terrorist threats against Americans at home and abroad. U.S. President Donald Trump also said that the Islamic State is targeting Christian communities across Africa. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far following the strikes.
