Aligarh after Delhi: Protestors pelt stones, cops use tear gas outside AMU

Protestors and police clashed outside Aligarh Muslim University situated in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh. Demonstrators pelted stones, and police fired tear gas shells in retaliation.The protests allegedly broke out over the violence at Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University. In the national capital, buses had been set on fire and stones and petrol bombs hurled. The Delhi protest had been organised in opposition to the recent changes to India's Citizenship law. After the violence, Delhi police had detained many Jamia students.
