A 23-year old in Kerala has tested positive for the deadly Nipah virus. Another person was shifted to the isolation ward of a hospital in Ernakulam. At least 86 people are under observation so far. The Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan, promised all possible support to the Kerala government to deal with the situation. A Nipah outbreak in Kerala last year had claimed the lives of 17 people. The Kerala CM's Office tweeted that all necessary preparations have been done to contend with the situation.
