Angela Merkel bats for electric buses to tackle Delhi pollution

German Chancellor Angela Merkel cited the pollution in Delhi and offered a solution to fight the menace. Speaking at the 63rd annual general meeting of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Merkel said that Delhi's pollution presented a very good argument to replace diesel buses with electric ones. The German Chancellor also pledged to spend one billion Euros on green urban mobility in India. She added that 200 million Euros would be earmarked to reform the bus sector in Tamil Nadu.
