‘Ayurveda gave world first surgeon’: UP CM Yogi on doctors opposing new norms

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticised doctors opposed to the Central government's move to allow Ayurveda practitioners to perform surgeries. The government recently said that post-graduate practitioners in certain Ayurveda streams can be trained to perform general surgery. The Indian Medical Association opposed the move, even calling a nationwide strike on December 11, 2020. Adityanath said that Ayurveda gave the world the technique of surgery, and so doctors should drop their opposition. Watch the full video for more.
