‘Betrayed Maharashtra farmers’: Fadnavis slams Uddhav for u-turn from own demand

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis said the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has betrayed the farmers of the state. Speaking after the assembly session, said Uddhav should release Rs 23,000 crore for farmers as compensation for unseasonal rains. “CM had announced that they'll provide Rs 25,000/hectare to farmers suffering due to untimely rainfall. But yesterday when the supplementary demands came, they had allotted only Rs 750 crore. If they have to give Rs 25,000/hectare then they should have allotted Rs 23,000 crore. The manner in which this govt is being run, in its first stage itself, it has betrayed the farmers of Maharashtra,” Fadnavis said.
