Big push for infrastructure in Budget 2019. But can government deliver?

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's debut budget aimed at boosting infrastructure development across the country. She announced the intention to restructure the national highways programme and invest over Rs 80 thousand in phase three of the PM Gram Sadak Yojana. The Modi administration also aims to encourage investment by foreign portfolio investors in infrastructure debt funds to raise capital for the sector. Peeyush Naidu, Partner, Deloitte India (Infrastructure) helps analyse whether the government will be able to deliver on its ambitious bid.
