Blow for Akhilesh as ex-PM Chandra Shekhar’s son joins BJP after quitting SP

Neeraj Shekhar, son of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He assumed the saffron mantle just days after quitting the Rajya Sabha as a Samajwadi Party MP. He was inducted into the party in the presence of BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav. According to reports, Shekhar quit the SP over the party's refusal to give him the Ballia ticket in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
