Bus carrying pilgrims catches fire in Thane; narrow escape for passengers

A bus carrying pilgrims caught fire on January 05 in Mumbai's Thane. 21 pilgrims were returning to Mumbai from Shirdi. The private luxury bus was on its way to suburban Borivili. It went up in flames on the highway near Jupiter Hospital in the city. On getting message about the incident, firemen, traffic police and RDMC personnel rushed to the spot and put out the flames. All the 21 passengers, returning from the temple town of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district, were evacuated safely from the bus. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, informed an official.
