Cyclone Maha batters Lakshadweep, heavy rains likely in Karnataka & Kerala

Lakshadweep islands witnessed rough sea and heavy rain due to cyclone Maha. The Navy is coordinating with officials in the island to help evacuate people to shelters. Water has also entered several residential areas leaving normal life badly affected. Heavy rainfall is also likely in parts of Kerala, coastal areas of Karnataka and some parts of Tamil Nadu. Fishermen have been asked not to venture to the sea along the Kerala-Karnataka coast.
