‘Didn’t want US & world to go into a frenzy’: Trump on downplaying Covid threat

US President Donald trump seemed to accept allegations of downplaying the Covid threat made in an upcoming book by journalist Bob Woodward. Trump, while answering queries from the media, said that it is true that he did not want to create panic or put the world into a frenzy. 'We don't want to instill panic, we don't want to jump up and down and start shouting that we have a problem that is a tremendous problem, scare everybody, Trump told reporters. He then went on to say that the US has done a great job in managing the Covid crisis. He said that the incredible job done buy by his administration was not acknowledged by the media. Trump also lashed out at the Chinese government and said that while they managed to stop Covid spread to other parts of the China, they did not stop it from spreading to Europe or other parts of the world. Trump went on praise his leadership in dealing with the Covid crisis and said that his government ensure were taken to prevent millions of deaths in the country.
