Diplomatic tightrope: PM Modi meets Iran President amid US tension

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani in New York, on Thursday. The bilateral engagement took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. PM Modi met the Iranian leader amid increasing tension between Washington and Tehran. Just days earlier, during his meeting with PM Modi, President of the United States of America, Donald Trump had said that Iran tops the list of terrorist nations. The widening gulf between US and Iran poses a diplomatic tightrope walk for Delhi.
