Durga Puja 2019: From concept to traditional pandals, all that we saw in Kolkata

Durga Puja is one of the most-awaited festivals in India, and holds great relevance in West Bengal and parts of North-East India. It is celebrated to mark the victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura and is hailed as a celebration of female power (Shakti). This festival culminates on Dussehra (Vijaydashami) with Durga visarjan. From concept pandals to traditional ones, Kolkata had a lot to offer this year during Pujo celebrations. Great food to suit various tastebuds, high amount of energy, traditional fashion were some of the things we noticed during our Kolkata sojourn during Durga Puja festivities.
