Former FM Chidambaram sent to Tihar jail after court rejects bail | INX case

Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram was sent to Delhi's Tihar jail till September 19, after a court rejected his bail plea. The Congress leader is under lens in the INX Media case. Alleged irregularities took place during Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance to the company during Chidambaram's tenure as Union Finance Minister. Both the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate are probing the case. During the hearing on Thursday, Chidambaram tried to avoid being sent to Tihar jail by proposing that he would surrender to ED.
