Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh passes away, PM Modi pays tribute

Former Union minister Jaswant Singh passed away on September 27 following a long spell of illness. As per Delhi's Army Hospital's statement, Singh had a cardiac arrest. He was being treated for Sepsis with Multiorgan Dysfunction Syndrome. Singh, 82, was a close associate of ex-prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Singh was one of its early founding members of the BJP and also served in the Indian Army before joining politics. He held several portfolios like external affairs, defence surface transport. PM Modi mourned the demise of the former Union Minister. “Jaswant Singh Ji will be remembered for his unique perspective on matters of politics and society. He also contributed to the strengthening of the BJP. I will always remember our interactions. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti,” PM Modi tweeted. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other leaders also paid tribute to Jaswant Singh.
