Fuel prices hike: Petrol, diesel prices break fresh records

After holding on for a day, the State-owned oil marketing companies again increased the price of petroleum products such as petrol and diesel in the country today. Fuel prices once again witnessed a hike on Thursday, with petrol being sold at Rs.79.51 per litre and diesel at Rs.71.55 per litre here in the national capital. Surging global oil prices and the falling rupee, has lead to the unusual spurt in fuel prices that pinching our pockets. This has left common people perturbed. India imports about 80% of its crude oil, and the falling Indian rupee will make the imports costlier and lead to a rise in fuel prices.
