I paid speeding fine: Minister Nitin Gadkari on new Motor Vehicle Act rules

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed on Monday that even he paid a speeding fine, while speaking on the new Motor Vehicle Act rules. The minister, who holds the road transport and highways portfolio, said that a car registered in his name was caught speeding in Mumbai, and that he paid the fine. Gadkari was speaking at an event to list the new government's achievements in its first hundred days in office. He justified the stricter penalties under the amended Motor Vehicles Act, citing high number of accidents in India.
