In a first, Gujarat woman delivers baby through transplanted uterus

Meenakshi has become India's first lady to give birth through transplanted uterus. The woman from Gujrat was operated with her mother's uterus in Pune's Galaxy Hospital on May 18,2017. It is for the first time in Asia and almost 12th time in the world when a woman gave birth through transplanted uterus. According to Medical Director, Shailesh Puntambekar, the uterus was transplanted because Meenakshi had three abortions and her chances to conceive was almost impossible.
