‘Indian economy witnessing strong recovery’: Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the Indian economy is showing signs of strong recovery. Addressing a press conference to announce more stimulus measures to boost growth, the finance minister said that macro-economic indicators are pointing towards recovery. Giving details of the recovery, Sitharaman said that composite purchasing managers index or PMI rose to 58.9% in October versus 54.6% in the previous month, registering strongest increase in output in close to nine years. She further added that the Goods and Services Tax collections have grown 10% to over Rs 1.05 lakh crore. She further added that the RBI would now be holding monthly reports on the state of the economy. Watch the full video for all the details.
