Journalist Kavitha Jakkal and Activist Rehana Fatima were escorted by police to Sabarimala Temple. They were escorted by a police guard of 150 personnel. The gates of the Temple opened for the devotees on Wednesday. Police and protesters have been involved in a showdown. The Kerala government said it will follow the court order and ensure women are allowed in the temple.Protests have swept across the state leading to a state-wide shutdown.
