Ladakh: China provokes day after LAC meet as India exposes Pak joint ‘mission’

China's confrontational stance over the tension along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh continued a day after delegations of the two countries met near the disputed border. Five months into the stand-off, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian tried to blame India for the tension, citing development of infrastructure and deployment of military personnel along the border. He added that Beijing does not recognise the Union Territory of Ladakh and the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from Ladakh, China also claims Arunachal as its territory, calling it 'south Tibet'. China's latest provocative statement came a day after India's defence minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated over 40 bridges in border areas, and also spoke on a joint 'mission' by Pakistan and China to keep their borders with India hot. Amid the sharp rhetoric, Delhi and Beijing released a joint statement after the seventh round of talks near the LAC to try and move towards disengagement. China was comparatively subdued in the joint statement. Watch the full video for more.
