Mangaluru: Explosive device parts found at airport, defused; suspect on cam

Components of an improvised explosive device were found at the Mangaluru airport on Monday. The discovery of the IED parts in an unattended bag near a ticket counter, caused a scare. The IED was later defused in an empty field. The police released photographs of a suspect. His face was hidden by a cap. Security personnel said that he left the airport in an autorickshaw. Central Industrial Security Force DIG, Anil Pandey, said that the parts were of a low-intensity IED, and lacked a triggering mechanism and charge.
