Updated on Mar 29, 2019 08:06 pm IST

With the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections less than two weeks away, the Congress is hoping to gain significant electoral mileage with its minimum income promise. Congress President Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a rally in Haryana's Yamunanagar, revealed where he got the idea for the scheme from. Gandhi said that after listening to Narendra Modi's pre-poll promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian's account, he thought that the concept was good and therefore asked his party's 'think-tank' to draw up a proposal.
