Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab cabinet minister

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday resigned from the Punjab cabinet as a minister. Sidhu made the announcement on Twitter and sent the letter to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Sidhu has been at loggerheads with Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh ever since his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu was denied a Lok Sabha ticket. Last month, Sidhu was stripped of his portfolios of Local Bodies and Tourism & Culture ministries.
