Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala: All you need to know about NiV

At least nine people are feared to have died in north Kerala from the Nipah virus. State health minister said on May 22 that ouf the nine confirmed fever deaths, four cases have been confimed to be Nipah-infected. Earlier, 12 people had been suspected to have died of the virus which has high fatality rate and spreads mainly through bats, pigs and other animals.
