Published on Jun 26, 2020 05:05 pm IST
Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna refuted reports suggesting that Bhutan had stopped irrigation water supply. Krishna clarified that the supply was disrupted because of boulders in the channel. He added that the neighbouring country had actually assisted in clearing the blockage. The Chief Secy had also tweeted and said that Bhutan has in fact helped to clear blockage. Earlier, Bhutan had termed the reports as 'totally baseless' and a 'distressing allegation'. Bhutan called it a deliberate attempt by 'vested interests to spread misinformation & cause misunderstanding'.
