PM Modi accorded Maldives’ highest honour; gifts special bat to Prez Solih

On his first foreign visit after re-election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded Maldives' highest honour for foreign dignitaries. Maldives' President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred PM Modi with the 'Most Honourable Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen'. Prime Minister Modi also took along a special and unique gift for President Solih. The latter was presented with a cricket bat, signed by Team India playing at the Cricket World Cup in UK. Maldives' President is an ardent cricket fan.
