Rajya Sabha passes two farm bills; cops deployed at Haryana border as farmers protest

Rajya Sabha passes the Farmers' and Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 was not taken up and the House was adjourned for the day. Earlier, police was deployed at Sadopur border in Ambala as farmers set protest in motion. Vegetable traders in Ambala also came out to support farmers. Haryana Home Minister Anil VIj said earlier that he has appealed farmers not to block roads amid pandemic. Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar moved the crucial farm bills in Rajya Sabha today. Amid chaos by the opposition, Rajya Sabha passed two farm bills, which farmers have been protesting against. Watch the full video for more.
