Rescue operations underway for 15 miners trapped in flooded Meghalaya mine

Rescue operations are underway for 15 miners who are trapped since 14 days in an illegal mine in Meghalaya. Coal India finally received a request for assistance sent by the Meghalaya government. NDRF officials and divers are engaged in the rescue operations and have reported of a foul odour. Santosh Singh, who is heading the rescue operations, said that the foul odour is not a good sign.
