SC orders Centre to grant permanent commission to women officers in Army

The Supreme Court ahs has given a big boost to end gender bias in the Indian Army. The SC ordered the Centre to grant permanent commission to women officers in the Army within three months. It also called the government's argument of physiological limitations and social norms disturbing. SC said that women officers have brought laurels to the country in the past and a change of mindset is required. Women officers welcomed the SC order on the issue.
