Severe water crisis hits Chennai
Updated on Apr 25, 2018 07:23 pm IST
Thanks to heat wave conditions Chennai is up against a severe water crisis. The water capacity in the 15 reservoirs serving the city is down to 14%. Civic bodies have decided to cut down the water supply to the residents. During monsoons, reservoirs are almost always up to their brim. A hot summer coupled with the delay in supply of water from river Cauvery that flows from neighbouring Karnataka has rendered people helpless in the metropolis.
