Shobhaa De rubbishes ex-Pak envoy’s claim on influencing her J&K article

Author Shobhaa De countered claims made by former Pakistan envoy to India Abdul Basit. Basit had said that he had influenced an article written by De on Jammu and Kashmir. The article was written in 2016 following terrorist Burhan Wani's encounter. De said she had met Basit only once and that too in January 2019. Abdul Basit was posted as Pakistan High Commissioner to India in 2014. He resigned over suspected cause of being passed over for foreign secretary post. Basit was succeeded as envoy to India by career diplomat Sohail Mahmood in 2017.
