Special Status for Andhra Pradesh Row Escalates, TDP Likely to End Alliance with BJP

Problems continue to grow between Telugu Desam Party and the BJP over the former's demand for special status to be given to Andhra Pradesh. Reportedly, TDP supremo, N. Chandrababu Naidu, asked his party MPs to raise the issue of special status and revenue deficit in Parliament. After both the houses were adjourned, TDP MPs continues to protest in Parliament's premises. Ministers of YSR Congress party also protested with placards inside the premises. TDP may also support YSR Congress party's no-confidence motion on March 16. The party is also likely to snap ties with BJP.
