Amid uncertainty over India's participation in the Davis cup in Pakistan, now Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that the government will have no say on the matter since it's not a bilateral engagement. Rijiju however added that government's clearance is needed for any bilateral matches with Pakistan. This comes amid tension between the two countries after India abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the state of J&K.
