The boy who gave up Ferrari rides to become Jain monk

Bhavya Shah, the son of a Surat-based diamond merchant, has become a Jain monk. The 12-year-old, who was fond of fancy cars and stylish sunglasses, took his vows in an elaborate ceremony on April 19. Before that, Bhavya took one last ride in his favourite Ferrari car that belonged to a family friend. In Gujarat, Jains have four sub-sects and “diksha” is a common practice among all sections.
