Villagers sport black bands on Eid to protest train lynching

Residents of Kandhawali in Haryana's Ballabhgarh observed Eid-al-Fitr while sporting black bands on Monday morning. The black bands demonstrated their anguish against the recent train lynching incident. On Friday, Junaid, a native of Kandhawali village had gone to Delhi to do shopping along with his two brothers. While the three brothers were returning by the Mathura passenger train, they had a heated argument with a group of men over seating. One of the men attacked Junaid and he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. One of the accused is currently on a three-day police remand in connection to the case.
