Watch: AK-47 magazines, Chinese grenades seized from LeT hideout in Shopian

In a big success for forces in the valley, an underground terror hideout of Lashkar-e-Taiba was busted in Shopian. J&K police along with 44 Rashtriya Rifles and 178 BN CRPF launched a search operation in an orchard in the Dachoo region when the hideout was discovered. The huge quantity of seized ammunition included 2 UBGL grenades, three Chinese grenades, one AK-47 magazine along with 20 AK-47 rounds, a radio set, eatable items, along with incriminating material of proscribed outfit LeT. While the hideout was destroyed by forces, all incriminating materials have been seized for further probe.A case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Zainpora Police Station. This comes as forces are on an overdrive against terror groups operating in the valley. Notorious terrorist Ishfaq Rashid Khan was killed by forces in an encounter on Saturday and the police have said that no resident of Srinagar is now in militant ranks. Khan, a resident of Sozeith area of Srinagar, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Ranbirgarh area on the outskirts of the city in which another militant, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, from South Kashmir's Pulwama district was also killed.
