Cyclone Vardah killed atleast ten people and brought down trees and power lines as authorities moved tens of thousands of people from low-lying areas. Hours after the winds touched 140kmph died down, Chennai was still on its knees, fighting road blocks caused by thousands of uprooted trees, and a virtual blackout. People were evacuated to safer place after cyclone Vardah made landfall and disrupted the normal life.
