Watch: Nirmala Sitharaman to speak to RBI Governor over PMC crisis

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met agitated depositors of the PMC bank in Mumbai. Speaking to the media after the meet, Sitharaman said that the government does not control the cooperative banks but she will instruct officials of the related ministries to study the PMC case in detail. Sitharaman also said that she would speak to the RBI governor again and request him to expedite approvals to let depositors withdraw their money from the Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank Ltd.
