The mere sight of a scorpion is enough to send most people fleeing. But for a group of devotees in a small village of Karnataka they are objects to worship. The devotees grapple live scorpions, let them crawl over their face, arms and body. Their courage stems from the belief that the goddess would save them if the scorpion bites.
