A worsening water crisis in Shimla has forced its residents to ask tourists to not visit the town - at least, till the time the situation improves. The Himachal capital is facing severe water shortage during peak tourist season with taps running dry over a week now in many areas. Locals have been forced to stand in queues for hours to get water or buy it from private suppliers at exorbitant prices. Many hotels have been forced to cancel bookings.
