Will the triple talaq bill pass the Rajya Sabha hurdle?

The Rajya Sabha is set to debate the triple talaq bill that criminalises the practice of instant triple talaq among Muslims. The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2017 was passed in the Lower House on December 28, 2017. But the Opposition wants the bill to be sent to a Parliamentary Select Committee for wider consultation.
