India sends 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to 18 nations despite May export ban

- India has once again come to the rescue of countries battling the global food crisis. Despite May 13 ban on wheat export, New Delhi has exported 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to 18 countries. Sources have told Hindustan Times that India’s gesture came amid repeated requests from these countries. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has had a huge impact on the food security in these nations. Earlier, India told the UN that it has exported over 2.5 lakh tonnes of wheat to war-hit Yemen. Watch this video to know more.
