8 killed in a market bomb blast in Assam

At least eight people were killed in a bomb blast on Sunday in Assam. More tha 45 people were wounded in the blast in a crowded market about 100 km west of state capital Dispur. Reportedly five people were killed on the spot and three died on way to hospital. According to the police the separatist United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), fighting for an independent homeland for the state's more than 26 million people, was suspected to be behind the attack.
