Police today evacuated the locals, living by river side, as flash floods hit Solang valley in Himachal Pradesh, reportedly killing one person. The Deputy Commissioner of Manali, Amitabh Awasthi, informed that two bridges, one at Dhundi and the other at Palchan, were washed away. Incessant rainfall, cloud bursting, landslides and swollen rivers are causing havoc for locals and travellers, as many vehicles were left stranded on the Manali-Rohtang Pass. Flash floods led to the closing of Chandigarh-Manali National Highway and scenes of devastation dotted the area.
