AIFF plans to professionalise soccer in country

An action plan has been charted out by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to lend professionalism to the game of soccer and popularise it in the country, right from club level. Praful Patel, President of AIFF disclosed this after meeting the chief of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at New Delhi. He also said a team of experts from AFC would be visiting India in October and set out specific and stipulated criteria. Patel also mentioned artificial turfs being laid at four locations in the country for which the contract has been assigned.
