Aim to level Indian economy with US, China: FM

After presenting the interim budget 2014, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that the government aims to achieve a doable target of making Indian economy third most strong in the world. The Finance Minister appreciated his governmnet for keeping a stability in the economy and said that the last 10 years of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) rule have seen considerable amount of growth. Meanwhile, announcing the budget, Chidambaram stated that growth would recover to at least 5.2 percent in the second of 2013/14 from 4.6 percent in the first half. He said that their target is to move further from 5.2 to six percent.
