Alexandre Vinokourov wins gold

Kazakh Alexandre Vinokourov upset Britain's plan to set up a massive sprint finish for Mark Cavendish when he claimed the gold medal in the Olympic cycling road race. Colombia's Rigoberto Uran disputed the finish with Vinokourov down The Mall near Buckingham Palace but had to settle for the silver medal. Norway's Alexander Kristoff picked up the bronze medal eight seconds behind.
