Amar Singh slams Mulayam for 'ill treating' Mayawati

Amar Singh, former leader of Samajwadi Party (SP), on Saturday slammed Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for 'ill treating' Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati. Amar Singh was referring to an incident in 1995 when Mayawati withdrew her Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) support to Mulayam Singh government, leading to its collapse. Reportedly, Samajwadi party activists then attacked the guesthouse in state capital Lucknow where Mayawati was staying. Lawmakers belonging to BSP were beaten up and Mayawati was forced to lock herself in a room.
